Momo Chutney Recipe

Hi foodies,

I received many requests to share the recipe of momo chutney, as soon as I revealed the momos recipe last week. I'm so glad that you all showed so much love to the recipe and can't wait to try it out.

Momos are a part of Nepali cuisine. They are served with red coloured and spicy chutney. This chutney enhances the taste and flavours of momos. Momos can be served with a variety of sauces and condiments.

Momo chutney

Momo chutney recipe:

Preparation time: 2 minutes

Cooking time: 10 minutes

Serves: 1 cup

Ingredients:

  • 3 tomatoes (medium size)
  • 3-4 dried red chilies (deseeded)
  • 1 tsp garlic (finely chopped)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1/4 tsp sugar
  • Salt as per taste

Method:

1. Heat the water in a pan and let it come to boil. Then add tomatoes and red chilies to it.

2. Let is cook on a medium flame for 7-8 minutes.

3. Strain the water and allow the tomatoes and red chilies to cool down.

4. Once they cool, add the tomatoes, red chilies, garlic, black pepper powder, sugar and salt in a blender.

5. Blend the mixture well, without adding any water.

6. Remove this smooth paste into a bowl and your momo chutney is ready!

Notes-

1. This chutney can be served with any sort of snacks.

2. The colour of the chutney will vary depending on the type of chilies used.

3. It stays fresh for 5-6 days (when refrigerated).

I hope you all like this momo chutney recipe as much as you liked the Lasan ki chutney or Garlic chutney. If you are too lazy to prepare this momo chutney, a quick hack is to mix tomato ketchup and Schezwan chutney in equal quantity, and you can use this as an alternative to momo chutney.

I hope you are all eating healthy and concentrating on building your immunity. At Savour with Sakshi, I'll keep sharing more such easy recipes with you. Stay tuned for more.

Yours foodly,

Sakshi.
