Paneer Pasanda Recipe:

Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 20 minutes
Serves: 4-5 people

Ingredients-
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 cups diced paneer
  • 2 cups diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup diced onion
  • 1 tbsp diced garlic
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 8-10 cashew nuts
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 2-3 kashmiri red chili
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 4 tbsp cream
  • 1 tbsp coriander leaves (for garnishing)
  • Salt as per taste
The method-

1. Heat the oil in a pan on medium flame. Add garam masala, garlic and onion to it.
2. Once the onion turns translucent, add tomatoes, cashew nuts, water and kashmiri red chili to the mixture. Saute it for 5-10 minutes and turn the flame off.
3. Let the mixture cool down and transfer it to a blender. Grind this mix to a smooth paste and set it aside.

4. Now add butter to the pan, along with red chili powder. This gives the curry, a nice colour.
5. Add the paste formed in step 3 to the pan. Add salt, sugar, kasuri methi and cream to the same. Cook this mix for 2 minutes.
6. Add paneer cubes to the mix above and cook for 3 minutes on medium flame.
7. Garnish your curry with coriander leaves and it is now ready to serve!

Notes-
1. Use tomatoes which have a sweet and tangy taste.
2. Oil or butter should leave the sides of the pan, while cooking the blended puree, so that the raw flavours of the vegetables disappear.
3. You can add artificial food colour, to give a better colour to your dish.
